HELP ME WISH SOMEONE HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
A special happy birthday wish to a very special young lady: Kristin Monroe.
Very few young ladies have come into our life with the grace, class, and maturity,
that you posses Kristin. Thank you for who you are and know that we love and
miss you dearly!
And now we ask a favor from all of you: Would you be so kind as to email Kristin Monroe with some birthday greetings? She turns twenty today and is away from
home at college. My guess is that she could use some encouraging words this week...
Kristin was an incredible athlete and student, but it is for how she has handled life, and all it has thrown her way that we grew to love her and her family. Believe us when we say she is a special young lady...
Her email address is:
monrkb06@uwgb.edu
Even if you are one who doesn't usually respond to the email, could you take some time to make Kristin's birthday special? I'm thinking email from all over the world
would be a good start, so be sure to tell her if you are from outside the U.S.!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts....
Michael and Kristi Powers

The Silence Of The Snowfall
By Dee Ann E. L. Horvath
Being consumed by the hush that has befallen the land
And almost blinded by the pure whiteness
Of this winter wonderland
Astonished at the magnificence of the beauty of it all
Appreciating what a privilege to be able to view a snowfall
Nature has converted its sleeping dreary plains
Into rolling drifts of whipped cream and crystal window panes
The lifeless cold wetlands into mirrors encircled with white lace
Forests frosted with powered sugar and icing
Puts an awe on my face
Woodland animals dawning their winter apparel
Compelling me to want to blend in and be part of this marvel
Laying down and sinking into the cold and fluffy snow
A warmth surrounds my heart and I feel an inner glow
To merge once more with nature like I was at birth
And one day will again when I leave this wonderful earth
It is times like these I realize my value and my worth
Is to be a witness to such miracles
And to rejoice in winter's artwork
Now all my troubles seem infinitely small
For today I ventured out in winter's snowfall
So vast and expansive it is hard to comprehend
That the silence of the snowfall has reminded me of who I am.

Born in Chicago Illinois in 1955. Raised partially in Wisconsin and then returned to the Chicago suburbs in 1965 where I have remained ever since. Married to my high school sweet heart for over 25 years and we have three wonderful daughters together. I enjoy life and meeting people. To me every person is a novel waiting to be read. Some are better reading than others are but there is always something to be learned. I have always been a creative and artistic individual. Recently I have found writing poetry and short stories to be my passion. I find it is a wonderful fulfilling way to express myself and relieve stress.

"I thought of you first after my family sat down to watch the video we gave
them. They loved it, to say the least! Within thirty seconds my mom was
crying and my dad did too. They said it was the best Christmas gift we could
have given them!! You did such a beautiful job! They were so surprised and so
touched---they really, really, really loved it. Thanks for helping to make it so
special to us all. My mom mentioned how the songs were perfect for the
video too! Thanks again!"
