I will fly free on shimmering clouds of coral fleece Beyond the reach of the sun's burnished scepter Through mounded clouds of soft pearl gray, My gloriously recreated body winging by the morning star The last beams of scarlet sun-glow Replaced by the golden light of day. © Mary-Ellen Grisham August 24, 1999 (from a line in Psalm 139) Email: fantasy@apci.net Send Mary-Ellen an email and let her know what you thought of her poem! A little bit about Mary-Ellen: I am a freelance writer living in Godfrey, Illinois, with my husband and son. I am a teacher or librarian by training and have alternately taught or done library work. I have published poetry at a number of Internet sites and in some national poetry magazines and anthologies. ********************* A New Day Awakens By: Miriam Campo Death is but a new beginning if we could only see the angels singing, the lord rejoicing his children are back with thee. We are on this earth for a short time how long no one really knows cherish the time, enjoy your life but don't regret a thing. When our loved ones pass Indeed we may feel sad but don't despair for their soul is in the air They may not be here as they were before but know that you are not alone your family will always be around you protecting your human soul Rest assured that later in time you will once again be with them with open arms they will guide you but until then be strong my friend Follow the Lord, for he will not leave you through his strength your strength will grow accept the peace he is sending your way and learn how to continue on. Send her an email and encourage her after you read it! The Tongue The Tongue is a dangerous organ Which many don't use as they should, For in that strong little muscle Is power to wound or do good. The power to wound includes many things Which most of us do every day; We should beware that the mean things we speak Remain long before they pass away. Kindness and words of encouragement We could speak if only we would, And the smallest thing we say to one Can stimulate them to do good. So we must stop to consider, Each time that we speak, every day, Whether good or evil will result From each little thing that we say. Copyright 2000, Emily J. She has been dealing with a number of health problems that the doctors just can't seem to figure out. When I asked her how she was doing, she wrote the following email back to me. If anyone on this list has any insights as to her health problems, please contact her at her email address. But most importantly, I ask that everyone prays for her and her doctors. Thanks a bunch! Michael Powers Actually, the problem is - we don't know what's wrong. I am the girl known for rare conditions. I don't have any life threatening diseases (well, none at all actually) but when I come down with something, it always takes a specialist to figure it out. Once, I woke up bleeding from the gums and had bruises all over me. Any outlet that could bleed was and those that couldn't bruised. Went to the emergency room and became a mystery to everyone. It LOOKED like leukemia, LOOKED like TB, even LOOKED like a bad case of AIDS. When they brought a specialist in (AFTER the bone marrow biopsy - whew - painful stuff that is) it was determined I had a rare blood disorder. My platelets dropped so low that they couldn't even be counted. I had ITP - Idiopathic (which means they don't know where it came from or why) Thrombocitapedia Pupurra (And no, that isn't spelled right) I spent 11 days in the hospital trying to get my platelets back up to what is normal for folks. Was on steroids for a long time. I'm normal now, except I have tons of pain in my stomach and normal tests have found nothing. There's also bleeding from places that shouldn't bleed, so the docs are baffled. And lucky me - I get to go in for more extensive testing that may require surgery for testing and then surgery to correct whatever is wrong! YIKES! But I am trying to keep my spirits up. It's always something with me so I'm used to it. agklocke@klockepresents.com (Angela Giles Klocke) __________________________________________ Thought For The Day: "The trouble with stretching the truth is that it's apt to snap back." Within thirty seconds my mom was crying and my dad did too. They said it was the best Christmas gift we could have given them!! You did such a beautiful job! They were so suprised and so touched---they really, really, really loved it. Thanks for helping to make it so special to us all. My mom mentioned how the songs were perfect for the video too!
