A QUICK REMINDER!
I will be doing a book signing this Sunday,
September 9 at Faith Community Church in Janesville, WI.
(2931 Lucerne Drive, about five blocks south of Menard's,
right off Interstate 90.) I will be reading one of my stories
during both services and then signing my book at the
conclusion of both the 9:00 am and 10:45 am services.
We would love to have you join us, especially if you are
on this list and live in the area, but we have never met you!
Our church is very upbeat and inspirational, and our
pastor is one of the best speakers we have ever had
the privilege of hearing! (He is going to be my new boss now,
so a little buttering up can't hurt!)

Back in Time
I must go back to my childhood days,
To the days of dolls and first grade plays,
To the Sunday dinners, the country drives,
To see life through a little ones eyes.
I must go back to my childhood time,
To bedtime stories and books that rhyme,
To Grandma's house, her old grapevines,
To walk in the woods and smell the pines.
I must go back to my childhood age,
To when my best friend was a dog named Page,
To be a little, curly headed girl,
To look and see a whole new world.

I have since then framed it and have it hanging
in one of my bedrooms, which is a nursery for
her son (when he is here). I have enjoyed it and
wanted to share with others.

A graduate of ASU. She lives in Eden, NC.

Silent Rain
By Nancy V. (Rawlins) Weaver
"Sometimes the pain is just too deep,
Late in the darkness, I cannot sleep;
I toss, I turn, and try not to weep,
but SILENT RAIN thunders through my heart...
In the morning, the sun appears,
Birds chirping, and I forget my fears,
Music and laughter fill my ears
but SILENT RAIN thunders through my heart...
You may ask why...
Why the pain?
You may wonder why...
Why the SILENT RAIN?
It's too deep inside...
Too difficult to explain...
This SILENT RAIN in my heart."
*****
This is the poem that is featured in my book entitled
"SILENT RAIN" and is written under the name of Nancy
V. Rawlins. It is available on Amazon.com and it contains
a quote on the cover -- "The sensitive, painful and real
account of one woman's courageous struggle to
continue beyond mere survival. The author's
bittersweet journey finds her immersed in her
history, searching for truth despite consequences.
What emerges is an intricately woven tapestry of
her life, love, loss, risk and finally rewards.
(Linda R. Mathon, MA, LLP)"
SILENT RAIN chronicles my struggles with life and
with my faith, and it was written in hopes of inspiring
and encouraging others who face such devastating
circumstances.
I was married to an alcoholic, who set fire to our
home while drunk, I experienced surgeries and
had children with surgeries, a daughter who survived
a serious car wreck, went through a nervous
breakdown, lost my home, became caretaker for
my only younger sister who died with cancer,
lost a baby grandchild, lost my nephew (raised like
my own son) in a shooting, and a few other problems.
Through it all, the only thing that was holding me up
was Christ (as in the poem Footprints, He was there
even when I didn't realize He was). I am now 65 years
of age, and I am so blessed in my life. One of my
favorite verses is "Be still, and know that I am God."
Ps. 46:10 (He spoke this verse to me when I was
at a low point one time.)

Reader Feedback!
Dear Laura,
I wanted to say thank you for sharing this with us all. "Get Away From It All" really hit home. I went at it so hard and strong that about 10 days ago I didn't have much of a choice but to take the time off work because I was so very stressed and burnt out that I couldn't think straight. No one should ever get to that point. For one it will make you hate the very thing you are working so hard at. Getting back to enjoying it will take some time. I haven't reached that point yet, so I don't know how much time it will actually take. I do know that my vacation is over and Monday I have to get back to the office and I don't really want to yet. Perhaps if I had taken this time off several months back I wouldn't be feeling this way now. I hope others that read your story decide to take the time before they actually have no choice.
Thanks again.
Miriam

Michael,
I just wanted to congratulate you on your plunge into full-time ministry! You definitely have a heart for the Lord, and it's wonderful to see you get your heart's desire. I want to thank you for all you do for us, creating this website and sending the daily e-mails; they are just wonderful and uplifting every day. I will keep you and your family in my prayers (especially now that you will all be home together! What a challenge!)

REQUESTS:
Michael,
Will you please add my prayer request on your list?
I applied for social security disability over 3 years ago due to having
a host of health problems. I have been turned down several times and
now it is in appeals. I have hired an attorney plus contacted my state
senators about this matter.
Please pray that I will be approved for disability benefits. I am not
lazy and would work if my body or mind would allow me to.
Thank you,
Tennie

Hi everybody!
Thank you for all your prayers and our Lord has in His own time brings my
mother in the path of recovery. After the 3rd operations, she is now able
to sit up in the wheel chair and the doctor together with the physiotherapist are training her to walk again after 3 months of lying down. She has tried to walk but felt
her legs are not stable to carry her. This may be due to her 'low sugar
level' or 'not walking' for 3 months. We have been encouraging her to eat
more and be encouraged to walk. Praise the Lord!
Please do continue to pray that our Lord touches her heart and she will be
more willing to cooperate with the nurses, doctors and those looking after
her. May our Lord send His angels to protect and take care of her.

"I thought of you first after my family sat down to watch
the video we gave them. They loved it, to say the
least! Within thirty seconds my mom was crying
and my dad did too. They said it was the best
Christmas gift we could have given them!! You
did such a beautiful job! They were so surprised
and so touched--they really, really, really loved it.
Thanks for helping to make it so special to us all.
My mom mentioned how the songs were perfect
for the video too! Thanks again!"

A number of people have written to us asking what
an EBook is, since our book is being offered in
both print and EBook versions. An EBook is a
book that can be downloaded and read right on
your computer. The advantage of ordering
the EBook is that is costs less, $8.95 (No other
charges), as compared to $14.95 + shipping and
handling for the print book. Plus you can download
the EBook and begin reading the stories in a few
minutes! EBooks are read via Acrobat Reader,
which is software that most of you already have
on your computer. And if for some reason you
don't, it can be downloaded free of charge at the
web site. So for those of you who don't want to
wait for the print book to be delivered, check out
this web site to order the EBook version of
Straight From the Heart "A Celebration of Life."
