Arise the Moon

arise fair moon in silken light
and kiss the earth a sweet goodnight.
covered in resplendent rays
keeping all within your gaze.
arise and seek ye those who weep,
those that tarry from their sleep.
and comfort found in soft imbue
that they may have a friend in you.
arise and bring the nightingale,
pray jasmine bloom upon your hail.
play your music on the waters
for watchful sons and bathing daughters.
arise, arise, be done the day
in your softness we will lay.
in your calm and soothing care,
glad that God has put you there.
This Earth a Quilt

your burnished treasure
coffers of
autumn's pleasure.

Mary Ellen is a self employed crafter in California with her husband, Kip. They share their home with three great kids and three fat cats. Much of her poetry is a profession of her faith in Jesus Christ. Thankful for the creative gifts that the Lord has given her, she always says, "God gives me all my best ideas, I take credit for the ones that don't work out so great!" Mary Ellen began writing a few years ago when they got their first computer and enjoys sharing online in poetry groups.
