Is there Enough Money? *Other Scriptures:* How much money do you need to be happy? Most people tell me it's just a little more than they have right now. The world you live in is filled with pressure to buy, buy, buy. Advertisers try to keep you feeling dissatisfied with what you have and hungry to purchase more of the stuff they push at you. So you continue buying to keep up with what everyone else has. It's a clever trap. The more you get, the less satisfied you are with what you own. I'm sure you want a job if you don't have one already. You want power and independence so you don't have to feel like you're begging money from your parents. But you can get so wrapped up in earning and spending money that you forget about me. Your work hours may leave you so tired that you can't find time to spend with me--to worship, read my Word, or pray anything beyond quick cries for help. Break out of the money trap. Put me first. Find your happiness and fulfillment in relationships, not possessions. People have always been worried about money and stuff. Don't be like the people who ignore God. They take pride in superficial things. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well what you need, and he will give it to you as you give him first place in your life. Don't be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of you. Your fulfillment, *Summary Challenge:* ______________________________________ Creation Q & A Q: Life in a test tube--would this prove evolution? A: First of all, we need to realize that scientists have never made life in a test--and probably never will. But in public school textbooks, students are shown experiments where scientists have been trying to create what they believe were conditions on Earth millions of years ago. Then they try to see if they could make life from chemicals. But what are they really doing? They are using their intelligence to design experiments and complicated pieces of equipment, trying to make life to prove that it all happened by chance! Students can see how illogical this is. The scientists aren't using chance--but their intelligence! Because all of these experiments have failed, some scientists have stated that life didn't evolve on Earth after all. They believe that it must have evolved somewhere in outer space--and then arrived on Earth! Then they think they have solved the problem about the origin of life--but they have just pushed the problem further out into space! These scientists could save millions of dollars if only they would read the greatest Book of all time--the Bible, starting with Genesis--which has all the answers we need. ALL-STAR Youth Ministry --The Youth Church of Faith Community Church in Janesville, WI If you are in 6-12th grade and live in the southern Wisconsin/northern Illinois area and would like to check us out, we meet every Sunday night from 6:30-8:00 PM at Faith Community Church which is located at 2931 Lucerne Dr. in Janesville, WI. (About 3 blocks south-east of The Skating Place.) All-Stars: 6:30 - 8:00 PM Sunday nights! Open to all youth grades 9-12. The Outlet: 6:30 - 8:00 PM Sunday nights in the Multi-Purpose Room! Open to all youth grades 6-8. Currently we have students from Edgerton, Fort Atkinson, Milton, Janesville Craig, Janesville Parker, Marshall, Franklin, Clinton, Beloit Memorial, and Beloit Turner. Honoring our departing class of 2007 Visit our youth website to see our topics for all of 2007! http://www.faithcommunitychurch.net/upcoming_topics ___________________________________ 6:30 - 8:00 PM Wednesday nights -- These groups are limited to no more than ten teens and are split into Jr. High and High School ages. This night is for those teens who want to dig deeper than what we do in All-Stars, but may not be ready to be a part of the Xtreme Teens. These cell groups will also be doing special activities with each other as the year goes on to build community. Jr. High age meets at the church and are led by Paula Marsden High School age are led by Tedi Knox: 2816 Blackbridge (Call 305-0318 if you have any questions!) Xtreme Teens: Xtreme Teens meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 PM all year round at the Powers' house. This group is very extensive with weekly homework, memorization, service projects, etc. Students interested in this group will have to fill out an application, provide references as to why others think they should be involved with this, and sign an agreement as to what is expected of them.
