Understanding the Enemy's schemes
MAIN SCRIPTURES: "Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the
Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking
for some victim to devour. Take a firm stand against him, and be strong
in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over

WHAT JESUS MIGHT SAY TO YOU:
Satan will press you...he knows exactly which buttons to push. He'll do
anything to keep you from all that is worthy of your attention. He will attack
your heart, the core of who you are. If anything is good or beautiful or
life-giving, he'll try to take it from you. Why? Because he's afraid of you.
He knows exactly who I have created you to be. You're a threat to him!
Please understand how Satan works. His schemes may seem complex
and twisted, but they're actually quite childish and simple. He is just
waving his arms around, shouting, "Look over here!" to distract you,
scare you, and get you to take your eyes off me. He'll do anything to
keep you from the unfathomable love and great adventure I have for you.
He knows your weaknesses and insecurities. Does this sound familiar?
"I can't do that because..." or "I'm terrible at this..." or "They're trying to
hurt my feelings..." or "I'm not good enough," etc.? Do NOT listen or
agree! That's Satan! He strikes at the very core of your emotions, your
insecurities, your identity.
Never respond by giving him your time or attention. Recognize the lies.
Turn your eyes back to me. Remember who you are, who I made you
to be. Don't let him fool you. I will help you fight! We have already won
the war. We can take him.

Creation Q & AQ: Is There Evidence for the Creation Model?
A: When God first created animals, he created them according to their
kinds, with the ability to reproduce, and with instructions to increase in
number and fill the earth (and seas; Genesis 1:20-22, 24-28). After the
Flood, land animals and birds that had been preserved on the Ark again
reproduced to fill the earth (Genesis 8:15-19).
Baraminologists (creation scientists who work to identify created kinds)
have determined that many animals represented by a single breeding pair
on the Ark have diversified so that today they are typically represented by
a whole family. For example, the family Canidae is believed to be made up
of animals from one baramin, a single created kind. This family includes
dogs, wolves, coyotes, foxes, and jackals. It consists of 34 species from
14 genera that are widely distributed on every continent except Antarctica,
confirming that they have indeed increased in number and multiplied on the
earth (cf. Genesis 8:17). The Bible mentions dogs, foxes, wolves, and
possibly jackals. Both dogs and wolves are first mentioned less than a
millennium after the Flood, indicating that diversification occurred very rapidly.
Historically, evolutionists have told us that changes in living things occur
at a slow, deliberate pace. Yet the creation model clearly requires that
significant changes be able to occur quite rapidly, if necessary, as animals
multiply and fill the earth. Today we see animals that have adapted to a
variety of different environments and niches. Is there any scientific evidence
that animals can adapt so quickly? Indeed there is! One example in lizards
appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences earlier this year.

ALL-STAR Youth Ministry
--The Youth Church of Faith Community Church in Janesville, WI
If you are in 7-12th grade and live in the southern Wisconsin/northern
Illinois area and would like to check us out, we meet every
Sunday night from 6:30-8:00 PM at Faith Community
Church which is located at 2931 Lucerne Dr. in Janesville,
WI. (About 3 blocks south-east of Menard's.)
Currently we have students from Edgerton, Fort Atkinson, Milton,
Janesville Craig, Janesville Parker, Marshall, Franklin, Clinton,
Beloit Memorial, and Beloit Turner. E-mail me back if you have

to any of our events that are listed below... We have way too
much fun and then, most importantly, talk about issues that
are relevant to you as a teenager.

 Teen Community Groups
6:30 - 8:00 PM Wednesday nights -- These groups are limited to
no more than ten teens and are split into Jr. High and High
School ages. This night is for those teens who want to dig
deeper than what we do on Sundays. These cell groups will also
be doing special activities with each other as the year goes on to
build community.
